Fox Rothschild Lands Renowned Aviation Team

Fox Rothschild LLP has absorbed a prominent aviation group from LeClairRyan, led by industry leaders Mark A. Dombroff and Diane Westwood Wilson.

“Mark, Diane and their team are entrenched in the aviation space and have been involved in nearly every significant airline matter and incident in the United States and abroad,” said Mark L. Silow, Chair of Fox Rothschild. “This marquee group is an outstanding and welcome addition to the firm, and their expansive practice positions Fox as an industry leader in aviation-related litigation, commercial disputes and FAA compliance, regulatory and safety issues.”

“We are thrilled to be joining the Fox Rothschild crew,” said Dombroff. “We have cultivated extensive relationships with clients in every facet of the aviation industry, and we look forward to utilizing Fox’s nationwide platform as a launchpad to continue to deliver the pragmatic business solutions and innovative legal strategies our U.S. and global clients are accustomed to receiving.”

The group has long served as go-to legal counsel for leading domestic and international commercial airlines, airframe, engine and component part manufacturers, service providers, airport developers, owners and operators of private aircraft entities, flight schools and aviation training providers, lessors, financiers, insurers and regulatory bodies.

The aviation team will be dispersed among several Fox offices: Washington, DC, New York, West Palm Beach, Dallas and San Francisco. Fox will also be opening an office in northern Virginia to house a portion of the group.

The group handles all forms of aviation-related litigation, including commercial disputes, aviation accident litigation, aircraft product liability litigation and general business issues, transactions and contract disputes, both in the United States and internationally. They also work with clients to navigate and map disaster preparation and response plans and provide crisis management services when necessary.

Additionally, they are well-versed in drone laws and regulations and work with clients on FAA appropriation issues, legal and regulatory obstacles in the deployment of anti-drone technologies and buying and selling UAS services.

Dombroff and Wilson will continue to host their sought-after annual Airline Symposium, which focuses on best practices managing aircraft incidents and routinely touches on matters related to NTSB, FAA and criminal investigations, family/survivor matters, civil litigation, employee and union issues, financial and shareholder concerns, and emergency preparedness issues. The 14th annual symposium is scheduled for February 2020.
