Fox Rothschild To Merge With Colorado Firm of Rollin Braswell Fisher

Boosting its presence in the Rocky Mountain region, Fox Rothschild LLP announces a merger with the commercial litigation firm of Rollin Braswell Fisher LLC (RBF Law), adding six attorneys to the firm’s Denver office effective June 25.

“We’re pleased to welcome this exceptional team of tenacious litigators from Rollin Braswell,” said Mark L. Silow, Chair of Fox Rothschild. “We’ve been exploring many avenues of strategic growth in Denver and found a superb match with this group. Their courtroom experience in handling some of the most complex and highly publicized battles arising out of the financial crisis will bolster our national team of more than 300 litigators. Additionally, they share our entrepreneurial, agile and resourceful approach to the practice of law and to achieving clients’ business goals.”

“Fox Rothschild is a terrific fit for us,” said Maritza Dominguez Braswell, who founded RBF Law, together with Michael A. Rollin and Caleb Durling. “We are seeking a national platform for our practice and clients, and Fox’s geographic reach provides that for us. Additionally, we share with Fox a deep commitment to diversity, inclusiveness and community engagement, which are important facets of our practice of law and to our ability to best serve our clients.”

RBF Law represents companies and individuals in high-stakes litigation and appeals in state and federal courts. The attorneys possess significant experience litigating complex disputes on a variety of matters, including residential mortgage backed securities and other financial products and services disputes, noncompete agreements and trade secrets, products liability, public entity litigation, corporate breakups and an array of other complex commercial disputes. The team serves as national counsel for major financial institutions across the United States, and at Fox, Rollin and Braswell will head a practice group devoted to capital markets and asset backed securities litigation, with a presence in both Denver and New York.

“This year marks our five-year anniversary of Fox’s merger with Lottner Rubin Fishman Saul, P.C., which added 16 attorneys to the Denver office that originally opened in 2012,” said Rick J. Rubin, Fox’s Denver Office Managing Partner. “We’re excited to welcome these six attorneys and embark upon this new chapter for Fox in the region.”

Joining Fox as partners from Rollin Braswell are Maritza Dominguez Braswell, Michael A. Rollin, Caleb Durling and Marsha M. Piccone. Among other recognitions, in 2017, Rollin was named a Law Week Colorado “Lawyer of the Year” and a National Law Journal “Elite Boutique Trailblazer.” Braswell has been recognized as a “Top Latino Lawyer” by Latino Leaders Magazine, one of Colorado’s “Top 5 Women Lawyers” by Law Week Colorado and one of Colorado’s “2018 Top 25 Most Powerful Women” by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.  In 2017, Law Week Colorado recognized Durling as a “Barrister’s Best Sports Lawyer,” and in 2018, 5280 magazine recognized Piccone, a former Colorado Court of Appeals judge, as a “Top Appellate Lawyer.” Joining as associates are Edgar O. Barraza and G. Steve Caravajal.

This merger comes on the heels of Fox’s recent acquisition of Shaw Fishman, which added 23 attorneys to the firm’s Chicago and Wilmington offices effective June 11. Fox has grown its national footprint significantly over the past several years. In May 2017, the firm launched a Seattle office through a merger with 39-attorney law firm Riddell Williams LLP. And in January 2016, Fox opened its Minneapolis office, welcoming more than 80 attorneys via a merger with Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP.
