Fox Rothschild Grows in Bay Area Through Merger With Apex Family Law
Bolstering its Northern California presence, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce a merger with Apex Family Law, P.C., effective December 3, 2018, that adds five family law attorneys to the firm’s San Francisco office.
“This expansion is an exciting next step in our strategic plan for our West Coast offices,” said Mark L. Silow, Chair of Fox Rothschild. “We have an established family law practice in Los Angeles and now San Francisco will also have a talented family law group, significantly broadening our scope of services in the Bay Area.”
Founded in 2013, Apex Law represents high-net-worth individuals and families facing complex and difficult family law issues.
“We are delighted to be joining a national firm with lawyers who share our hands-on approach to solving legal challenges and guiding clients to the opportunities and resolutions that match their goals,” said Raquel L. Sefton, Apex Family Law managing partner. “The added value of a full-service firm is the ease with which we can now collaborate with attorneys in related practices – tax, corporate, intellectual property and trusts and estates, among others – to better serve the comprehensive needs of our clients.”
“As part of Fox, our clients will also have access to the state-of-the-art tools, systems and services that a nationwide firm provides,” said Sefton.
Joining Fox as partners are Raquel L. Sefton, Casey McNamara and Christopher “Craig” Bridwell. Carlos A. Ramirez and Sarah A. Thompson are joining as associates. Five professional staff members from Apex Law are also now part of Fox.
Fox’s national Family Law practice consists of more than 30 attorneys who negotiate, mediate and litigate high-stakes divorce cases concerning marital assets, spousal support, child support, relocation and grandparent visitation. The group is experienced in handling complicated valuation issues, particularly for high-profile and high-net-worth individuals and their spouses. The team also offers alternatives to potentially protracted and expensive litigation via dedicated arbitrators, mediators and neutral case assessors.
“This is an exciting expansion for our San Francisco office. This group’s sophisticated family law work superbly complements several of our existing strengths, including business succession planning, trusts and estates and tax and wealth planning,” said Alexander Hernaez, managing partner of Fox’s San Francisco office.
