Sandra A. Romaszewski, an attorney in Fox’s Warrington, PA office, was the recipient of the 2013 Verdina Y. Showell Award for her service to the Wills for Heroes program, run through the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division.

The Verdina Y. Showell Award recognizes outstanding community service and commitment to the Wills for Heroes program, which provides free wills and other estate planning documents to Pennsylvania’s emergency responders.

Romaszewski serves as the voluntary coordinator of the Wills for Heroes program in Bucks County. She developed a manual that helps lawyer volunteers use the software program that formats the wills and additional legal documents for participants. Romaszewski also recruits volunteers, many from Fox Rothschild as well as Peirce College’s paralegal program and other local paralegal programs, to help with events.

“I am truly honored to receive this award,” said Romaszewski. “The Wills for Heroes program does such important work in our communities, and it is humbling to know that our hard work is making a difference in the lives of our emergency responders and their families from whose services and sacrifices we benefit daily.”
